Sharing and posting links to the 2004 Hong Kong triad movie, 江湖 aka Jiang Hu (Blood Brothers). FYI, 'Jiang Hu' is the official English title. Blood Brothers is the alternative and a lot-less used title.
I downloaded this movie some time back, and an online friend of mine requested, hence I had the links lying about and blah blah, and why not post it so that someone may have use for them? I doubt it because...this is not English-subbed. It's an RMVB file and I haven't been able to find subs that sync to it, so my apologies. If I ever download the AVI version (unlikely because I understand Cantonese/Mandarin), I'll post it.

Synopsis:
Hong Yan Zhao (Andy Lau) was thinking of retiring from the triad business, but was unable to due to circumstances. His son was then born at the time that his life was being threatened. Rumors were circulating around the triad circle that someone was planning to kill Zhao in the next 12 hours. His three lieutenants (Eric Tsang, Michael Miu and someone else) told him of the news and pledged their loyalty. His explosive and unpredictable right-hand man, Left-Hand, or Lefty (Jacky Cheung), swore to find the traitors and kill them. Among his people, one of them lacked loyalty and was a traitor, and Zhao was left to wait and see...
At the same time, young street punk Wing (Shawn Yu) was hoping to make it big in the triad world. Given the chance to kill an important mob boss would then help to cement his position in the underworld. His good friend Turbo (Edison Chen), also a street punk, was a coward, but at the same time, determined to see his friend succeed. In the end, Turbo ended up making a huge sacrifice for Wing's sake. Simultaneously, Wing was enamored with a prostitute, Yoyo.
This night, filled with tension and uncertainty, where life and death hung in a balance, everyone has something to lose and something to gain. All remains to be seen.

I really REALLY REALLLLLY adore 张学友 Jacky Cheung; this is a known fact. :D

This album (along with Jacky's other songs) has just been on constant play on my Windows Media Player for the past week. And I seriously think this is one of the best albums of 2007 so far (and I'm not a biased Jacky fangirl). Jacky experimented with other genres in this album and although some may say he should stick to his old style, I sincerely applaud him for trying something new and in my opinion, successful. It took me some time to get used to his new-ish sound, but after a while, I just couldn't help but love it. Admittedly I am iffy about the rap track (Track #01) but that's probably the only track I'm not partial to. The rest of the album is love - a little less dramatic than what I'd expect Jacky to be, but still maintaining the ballads along with the fresher, light pop-rock sound.
I especially recommend Track #03 在你身边, a song dedicated to his youngest daughter. It's so effing sweet, really, when you look at the lyrics. That being said, take the whole album. Really worth it, just for his voice. After all, he is 歌神 - God of Songs.

I'm copying my entry from cpop because I want all the ramblings I made on the record. :P
Because I went to 张学友 Jacky Cheung's Melbourne concert last Sunday (as I have asserted in my spastic real life update), my love him is reiginited. I've always been a huge Jacky fan, just not in the omgfangirl way since I graduted from high school (x years ago), but I think it's safe to say that I am, AGAIN, an omgfangirl of Jacky Cheung.
He is, an amazingly talented singer, truly deserving of the tag 歌神 God of Songs and man can he sing LIVE. Hard to believe that this man is 46 years old and can still pranced around the stage (his dances were really energetic even if some of it was a bit too weird for me) and sang like he did - live and all. I am still so amazed with his concert even a week later. Seriously, in my opinion, he's the best vocal singer to come out of the Hong Kong industry, no disrespect to the first 歌神 Sam Hui.
I've picked 25 of my favourite Jacky Cheung songs spanning from early 1990's to his latest Mandarin album released this year - 在你身边 By Your Side. I always thought his Cantonese songs are better, but I ended up choosing 10 Cantonese songs and 15 Mandarin songs. Oh well. :D
Please do check out the Youtube videos if you haven't listened to Jacky Cheung/have no idea who he is because he really is omgsomuchlove. His songs are mostly strong, powerful ballads, because that's what he does BEST - and Jacky's voice is a deep, male baritone. :)

Apologies to the friend's list. I have been very bad at updating and commenting lately. I hope all of you are well.
I'm now at rural so everything's pretty much...lonely and sparse and nothing to do except watch dustballs go by...yeah, it's that bad. Anyway, life's been hectic but uninteresting lately, so there's nothing much to say really. Rural rotation is going to be interesting but only because there are no, NO doctors out here. Only professional nurses and the "doctors" are us, the medical students.
Anyone feeling sorry for the rural people yet? Well I certainly do feel sorry for them. Imagine being stuck with me. I'm probably the laziest medical student in history and I know NOTHING.
We're still in "orientation" for the next two days, so the real work begins next week.
Urm, what else is there to say? Nothing much unless any of you are interested in nonsensical medical blabbling in which I would say, not really.
The only high point of my week so far is WHEESUNG'S NEW ALBUM. Like WHOA MAN. I ♥ Wheesung like omgwtfbbqdvdwhatever.
Also, next onslaught of upates, I'll be putting all my music posts together, so I apologise first for the spam and please skip over all entries. I'll put all same-language artistes into a post so it's less spammy.
